About the Chamber
An institution built for the enterprise of a plural India
The Indian Minorities Chamber of Commerce & Industry is a national, not-for-profit body under Section 8 of the Companies Act. We represent minority enterprise in the making of economic policy, and we build the capability of the firms that carry it.

Four tiers, one line of accountability

General Body
The sovereign body of the Chamber. Elects office bearers, adopts the annual report and audited accounts, and ratifies amendments to the articles.

Executive Council
Sets institutional strategy between general meetings, approves the budget, and holds the Secretariat accountable for delivery against the annual plan.

Standing Committees
Audit, ethics, nomination and grievance committees operate with independent members and report directly to the Executive Council.
04
Secretariat
The permanent professional staff who run programmes, research, chapter coordination and member services under the Secretary General.

- Section 8 status
- Incorporated as a not-for-profit company. No surplus is distributed; every rupee is applied to the objects of the Chamber.
- Independent audit
- Accounts are audited annually by an independent chartered accountancy firm and published in full alongside the annual report.
- Conflict of interest
- Office bearers and council chairs declare interests on appointment and recuse themselves from decisions in which they hold an interest.
- Grievance redressal
- A standing committee with independent members receives and disposes of member and public grievances within a published timeline.
